The ultimate messenger, he is the Archangel of all life-changing announcements: he announces to Mary that she will bear the child of light, he dictates the Quran to Muhammad, he whispers to prophets the words that will span centuries. His name carries this mission in every syllable: Strength of God.

This stone — Angelite — is the one he chose for you. And it's not hard to understand why. Angelite is a blue of unusual softness — not the vibrant blue of the midday sky, nor the dark blue of deep night, but the silvery-grey-blue of the sky just before the stars appear. The exact color of transition. The color of in-between. The color of Gabriel.

Angelite — blue anhydrite — is one of the few stones whose very name evokes angels. Its fine crystalline structure creates a particularly high, particularly subtle vibration. It does not work on the dense planes of matter like Ouriel's Leopard Jasper, nor on the fires of will like Michael's Carnelian. It works on the membrane between worlds — that translucent veil between what our senses perceive and what our soul has always known.

Hold the Angelite in your left hand — the receptive hand, the one that receives rather than acts. Notice its lightness. Its coolness. Angelite stays cool against the skin longer than other stones — as if it retains something of the night within it, even in broad daylight.

Get comfortable, preferably in a quiet place, at dusk if possible, or simply in dim light. Turn to the West. Close your eyes. Breathe slowly, deeply, and with each exhalation, let the day's thoughts recede like the tide. Do not seek silence — let it come.
